What’s in a name?

UPDATE: Following a membership vote in April 2021, our group will be known as Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Human Rights Action (TASHRIA).

Given the recognition that we are ONE rivertowns community, the Tarrytown Human Rights citizens group will henceforth be known as Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Human Rights.

We continue our mission of preserving, protecting and defending diversity – as well as combatting racism, sexism, genderism, homophobia, ableism and religious discrimination across our vibrant and colorful community.

Please note that this does not interfere in any way with our continued goal of establishing a formal Human Rights Commission (or Advisory Committee) in the village of Tarrytown – which is still a fundamental goal. But the name change, which reflects the continued participation in our efforts by our neighbors in Sleepy Hollow, underscores our commitment and ties to residents of both villages.
